One partner, across the technology lifecycle

Cadre provides end-to-end technology and talent solutions for high-growth and enterprise teams — from the strategy on the whiteboard to the platform in production to the people who make it happen. Three practices, shared context, one accountable partner.

Our practices

Technology Consulting

Most technology problems are not really technology problems. They are decisions made under pressure, architectures that calcified as the business changed, and roadmaps disconnected from commercial reality. Cadre brings in consultants who have run engineering and architecture at scale, so the advice you get is grounded in what actually ships — not slideware.

  • Technology strategy tied to commercial KPIs
  • Target-state architecture and platform reviews
  • Cloud, data/AI and security strategy
  • Build-vs-buy and vendor selection
  • Engineering operating-model design

Digital Transformation

Transformation programmes fail when they are sold as big-bang reinventions and run as multi-year black boxes. Cadre takes the opposite approach: we break change into phases that each stand on their own, ship working software early, and prove value against agreed metrics before the next investment is committed.

  • Legacy modernisation and cloud migration
  • Platform engineering and developer experience
  • Operating-model and ways-of-working change
  • Process automation and operational tooling
  • Phased delivery with measurable milestones

Talent Solutions

Hiring senior technology people is slow, expensive and easy to get wrong — and the cost of a mis-hire compounds. Cadre exists to make it fast and dependable. We maintain an established network of pre-vetted senior engineers, architects and technology leaders, so we are sourcing from people we already know rather than starting cold on every brief.

  • Pre-vetted senior contract and permanent talent
  • Embedded delivery teams and squads
  • RPO and embedded recruiting
  • Technical and cultural-fit screening
  • IR35-compliant contracting and onboarding

Engagement models

Work with us the way that fits

We shape the commercial model around the outcome you need — not the other way round.

Advisory consulting

Fixed-scope strategy, architecture and assessment engagements that leave you with a costed, sequenced plan and the artefacts to act on it.

Transformation programmes

Phased delivery with milestone gates, so budget is committed step by step and every phase proves its value before the next begins.

Flexible talent

Senior contractors, permanent hires, embedded squads or RPO — the right model for the outcome, with compliant, low-friction contracting.

Representative work

The kind of work we take on

Illustrative scenarios drawn from the engagements we run — the situation, our approach and the outcome we work toward. They are composites and do not name real clients.

Talent Solutions + Technology Consulting

Scaling a regulated payments platform without slowing delivery

Challenge
A high-growth payments company had outgrown its monolith and its hiring pipeline. Releases were slow and risky, a critical Staff Engineer role had been open for four months, and an upcoming regulatory deadline left no room for a long search or a multi-quarter re-platforming bet.
Approach
We ran a two-week architecture review to agree a pragmatic, incremental path off the monolith, then placed a pre-vetted Staff Engineer and a Platform Lead within twelve days to drive it. The architecture roadmap and the talent plan were built from the same diagnosis, so the new hires arrived aligned to a plan rather than inventing one.
Result
The first decomposed service shipped to production inside the first phase, the regulatory deadline was met comfortably, and deployment frequency roughly tripled over the engagement as the new platform pattern spread across teams.

Digital Transformation

A phased cloud migration that cut run-rate and de-risked release

Challenge
An established enterprise software vendor was running a fragile, self-managed estate with escalating infrastructure costs and a release process so manual that deployments were reserved for weekends. Leadership wanted to move to the cloud but had been burned before by a stalled big-bang programme.
Approach
We shaped the work as discrete, value-bearing phases rather than one cutover. A landing zone and paved-road CI/CD pipeline came first, then we modernised workloads incrementally using the strangler-fig pattern, embedding with the client’s engineers and coaching them throughout so the capability stayed in-house.
Result
Within two phases the team was deploying on demand during business hours, change-failure rate fell sharply, and cloud run-rate came down materially against the previous estate once right-sizing and FinOps practices were in place.

Talent Solutions

An embedded squad that hit a fixed launch date

Challenge
A health-tech scale-up had committed to a partner launch date but lacked the delivery capacity to build the new data-driven product module in time, and could not hire fast enough permanently without compromising on quality or security.
Approach
Rather than a string of individual contractors, we assembled a pre-vetted, cross-functional embedded squad — engineering, data and product — that integrated with the client’s ways of working from week one and delivered against their roadmap and definition of done, with security and compliance handled up front.
Result
The module shipped on the committed date, the squad scaled down cleanly as planned afterwards, and two of the embedded engineers converted to permanent hires to retain the institutional knowledge they had built.
